Apollo Roofing Solutions,  a UK manufacturer of adhesives, liquid coatings, sealants and primers for roofing system suppliers, has donated a range of adhesive products to assist the Single-Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) with their Single-ply Awareness Training (SAT).

SPRA has worked hard with its members to produce a new three day course covering all of the basics of single-ply roofing to give a better understanding of the system. Training is a key part of what SPRA offers, and such materials provided add value to training courses as trainees are able to handle materials, tools and equipment which help them to understand roofing components, installation and site health and safety.

Apollo donated their:

  • FleeceBond (A1270) moisture-curing polyurethane (MCPU) canister adhesive for securely and professionally bonding fleece-backed membrane to a wide range of roof substrates, including tissue and foil-faced insulation board.
  • MemBond (A3353) specialist fast-tack adhesive for bonding PVC membrane to insulation board, deck and up-stands.
  • FleeceBond (A9732) specialist high-tack adhesive for bonding fleece-backed membranes to PIR insulation board (tissue and foil-faced).

Apollo Technical Manager, Darrell Tibbins, said: "At Apollo, we are always happy to support the industries with which we trade. Adhesive application is a huge part of the single-ply membrane industry, and we are keen to ensure those taking part have the knowledge they need of adhesive application. By donating product to help facilitate SPRA's new SAT programme, we are pleased to have been able to play a part in helping to upskill the workforce, ensuring a better understanding of single-ply systems and improving standards industrywide.”

Mark Thornton, Training Manager at SPRA, added “We are very grateful to receive donations from members to support our training courses and programmes. It really makes a difference to the courses and enhances the experience for the learners. Thank you to Apollo and all our members who donated materials.”
